Social Networking In Schools
Facebook and Myspace should be aloud in school because they could be useful in some ways. Like for facebook you could use the email on the site, chat, and groups that teachers create to keep students updated on their homework for the week. Also we wouldn't have to have another email and we could just chat with friends bringing down the noise level.

I like facebook, but I understand why it's blocked. I see the value of it in schools, class groups and discussion along with photo and topic sharing, but you can't trust that all the students will stay on task. Honestly, are you going to tell me that you wouldn't do other stuff like quizes and talk to friends if it was unblocked? I really like facebook and go on it multiple times a day, but I still don't think we need it in school.
However, YouTube has so much educational value. That needs to be unblocked.
Facebook and Myspace and Twitter should be blocked. Youtube should be unblocked. They basically do the filtering job for you. If it's an inapropriate video, they block it.
I strongly say that Youtube should be unblocked for the entire site because there really isnt much inappropriate things on it espically no inappropriate things that kids look up. However there has been some controversy over Facebook/Myspace being unblocked but I lean toward them just staying blocked because they can be checked after school. Kids need to be doing there work instead of creating new status's on Facebook/Myspace and chatting about non school related subjects. But there is the arguement that what if you don't have a computer home. For this I believe that students should go to the local library or go to a friends house
