If people can get through modern day security once, what will stop them from doing it again. I think that is a necessary precaussion. It could potentially be in a lock box inside the cockpit, so that the pilot could get to it only.

but not if in the cockpit just somewhere in the plane that only the pilots know where so that it is in easy reach and nobody will find.
What if the pilot was a terrorist?
Why not use a weopon more powerful than a taser, but less powerful than a bullet. I'm suggesting we use rubber shots. It'll knock them out long enough for the plane to land. If they miss, it won't kill any innocent person.
