Griffin

Griffin's were thought to be majestic and powerful creatures. With the Body of a lion and the head, legs, and wings of an eagle. The lion was considered the king of the beasts while the eagle was considered the king of the birds. The griffin represented divine power and guarded the divine. The griffin was also thought to guard treasures to. The griffin is usually given prominent ears to look like a lions but some say they look more like a horses because of the length and they are sometime feathered. The griffin is seen in many ancient sculptures. It was also put on buildings and thought it would look over the building. It is also seen in many paintings usually over in England.
