I feel very strongly about student rights. I think no exceptions should be made for adults and every right should be given to children. If you don't give children a chance to be their own person, you're taking away the individuality of every student and child.
I completely agree! Nice definition! :P
But should every right be given to children? Right to vote, drink, smoke? And what about the rule that teachers enforce in elementary school, no swearing? Technically that could be an infringement of first amendment rights, but I think that children should have more rules than adults so that they learn how to be responsible adults. What do you think?
I completely agree. That makes so much sense because they shouldn't have every right because they aren't responsible enough to handle it, but they should have more than they have now.
Explain why you have chosen to look more carefully at this topic.
Because I enjoy discussing my opinion about controversial topics and that some people need to learn the truth because they are misinformed
List 10 topics or subtopics that could fall under the category.
Is this what you wanted to show me… hahaha
I believe that sudents should have free rights. They should be able to make there own decisions for themselves. If you control everything in students and childrens envrionment what are they going to do when parents aren't there anymore?
In addition to the things you listed it also can have to do with privacy (like random drug testing) and blocked websites.
Thanks for the suggestion! I just added it!
Yeah! If kids grow up feeling restricted, they'll feel restricted even after they do have rights. They won't feel like they will be able to speak out or express themselves. What a boring society that would be.
My thoughts exactly! Lol that would be a boring society, everyone doing the right thing. SCARY!!!
Persuasive speaking lets you voice YOUR opinion. That's what I like about it. People need opinions and facts to make up their minds and that is where persuasive speaking comes in handy. Yeah, persuasive writing does the same thing, but does it. Many people think so, but in writing it is more difficult to show the actual expression you want to. When you speak people can see and tell that you really believe in it and how strongly you feel about it. In writing, you can tell they have a feeling about it, but you can't see the real emotion first hand. That's what I love about it.
Persuasive speaking is very good because it lets you voice your opinion. It also teaches you a good skill that is getting people to agree with you. I really enjoyed doing our Persuasive Speeches.
