Atticus Finch

Atticus Finch is the tremendous father of Scout and Jem. He is a lawyer and an intelligent man that defends a black man in trial for something he didn't do. He was critizized by 3/4 of the town because he was defending him.
Through the whole time he is helping out Tom Robinson [the man who he is defending in court], and teaching Jem and Scout basic rules that they should know throughout there life.

As the story goes on Atticus' important role in the story is taken over by Jem and Scout, witnessing everything first hand. When they are almost beaten at the end of the story, a mysterious man, known later as Boo (Arthur) Radly, saves their lives.
